Amanda Davison
GP Mentor
Originally from Suffolk, I studied Medicine at Nottingham University.
After a year of general medicine, I then embarked on GP training and completed the Membership of the Royal college of Physicians and the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
I was a GP partner for 15 years at a Rutland practice and continued there as a salaried GP, until joining the Galletly Practice, Bourne in 2023 – also as a Salaried GP. I enjoy the variety of medicine that general practice offers and have also worked as a GP with a special interest in Rheumatology and Sports & Exercise Medicine. One morning a week, I work as a private health screening GP, with an interest in disease prevention and the menopause.
I am excited to be part of the LTH team and to be involved in the Fellowship mentoring program. I enjoy supervising and mentoring medical students and GP registrars and am pleased to have the opportunity to help guide colleagues through some of the challenges and stresses that general practice can present.
I live in Leicestershire and enjoy walking, running, sailing, and spending time with my family.
