Caroline Clay

Lead Nurse

After two successful careers in the Royal Air Force and in Information Technology, I decided to opt for a complete career change and become a Nurse. I graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) from the University of Lincoln in August 2018 and I have worked as a Practice Nurse ever since!

I joined the Galletly Practice in Bourne, South Lincolnshire in February 2019 working as a Treatment Room and Chronic Disease Nurse. I also completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Practice Nursing at De Montfort University and began working with Lincolnshire Training Hub in May 2019, as a practice nurse lead. I really enjoy this additional role because I am able to play an active part in delivering primary care strategies and supporting new and existing healthcare practitioners in Lincolnshire to ensure that they are able to develop their skills and achieve their career goals. More recently, I have undertaken a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching and Education and am actively involved in providing clinical education support to practices. I am also the lead for the Nursing Associate Programme operating within General Practice. I completed the Post graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching and Practice Education in 2021.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, wearing myself out at the gym and reading thriller novels
