Karen Atkin
Group Consultation Clinical Lead
I joined Lincolnshire Training Hub in a newly established role as Group Consultation Clinical Lead in July 2022.
I have worked as an Occupational Therapist for 20 years. I graduated from Derby University with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in 2002 and went on to work in acute and secondary care before developing my passion for Palliative Care and Long-Term Conditions. I was fortunate to get a job working for Lincolnshire St Barnabas Hospice both in the community, day care and inpatient unit. During that time, in 2009 I completed a BSc in Health & Social Care – Palliative Care.
Over the years I have enjoyed supporting many students and gained much satisfaction from watching them grow and develop as individuals progressing to have successful careers working as Occupational Therapists. I began working for K2 Primary Care Network and the South West Neighbourhood Team in 2020. Initially I focused on developing the Discharge to Assess (D2A) model, then I moved on to my current role which focuses on complex cases across South West Lincolnshire.
Outside of my work I enjoy being with my grandchildren and I also do endurance training, cycling and love listening to music.
