Nursing Mentor and Environment and Education Lead

Hello, I’m Kasia Doran newly recruited Environment and Education Lead also serving as a mentor under the Career Start Programme.

I qualified as a nurse in 2013. In 2016, I transitioned to primary care after having pursued a career in haemato-oncology in secondary care. I was able to transfer a lot of skills from hospital into primary care so my progression into the Nurse Practitioner was relatively quick. I gained additional qualifications such as non-medical prescribing and clinical assessment skills in 2018.

In September 2020, I commenced a master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, and I am currently completing the final module.

Having been fortunate to have worked alongside excellent mentors, I am eager to give back and provide similar guidance and support for peers and new recruits.
