Molly Butcher
Futures Programme Lead
I grew up in Lincolnshire and completed my A-Levels at William Farr School before studying Medicine at Newcastle University, graduating in 2023. I have worked as a doctor ever since, and am currently working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Alongside my clinical work, I have always had a strong interest in medical education and widening participation. In 2025, I worked as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Newcastle University, where I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. This role allowed me to develop my teaching experience and work closely with medical students at different stages of their training.
I have also worked with a number of universities, including Newcastle, Sunderland and Derby, supporting their medical school admissions and widening participation programmes. Through these roles, I have particularly enjoyed helping students understand the healthcare application process, develop their confidence and recognise that a career in healthcare is achievable for them.
I first joined LTH in 2019 and have been involved in developing and expanding the Future Programmes ever since. I am passionate about creating opportunities for students from all backgrounds and helping them navigate their journey into healthcare.
