NHS Leadership and Management Framework
The new NHS Leadership and Management Framework aims to drive improvements in leadership by setting clear, consistent, and professional standards across all levels of NHS management, from ward to board, clinical, medics and non-clinical.
All leaders and managers will have access to a self-assessment tool to support annual appraisals and enable evaluation against the standard. The tool provides a structured starting point for meaningful development conversations and ongoing, personalised improvement, helping individuals better understand their strengths and areas for development.
By supporting our managers and leaders, the NHS will continue to attract, develop and retain the best talent, help contribute to a sense of pride across all staff groups with managerial responsibilities and support the ambitions set out in the 10 Year Health Plan. With this framework we seek to further drive improvements in leadership by setting clear standards and expectations to ensure all leaders across the NHS, have access to high-quality development. To support, resources have been developed to accompany the framework to support its implementation. These include an interactive microsite, management leadership code and standard and competencies

Clinical and Operational Manager Training Programme
Proud2beOps group in collaboration with KPMG have launched a new Clinical and Operational Manager Training Programme.

General Practice Nurse (GPN) Leadership Fundamentals Modules
The NHS Leadership Academy has launched a series of interactive GPN Leadership Fundamentals Modules, developed exclusively for General Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioners. The three modules are accessible at no cost to all GPNs via the NHS Leadership Learning Zone (LLZ) and are mapped against the Primary Care and General Practice Nursing Career and Core Capabilities Framework
The modules explore the difference between leadership and management and what it means to be a nurse in a leadership position. Topics include managing change, performance and behaviour, managing conflict, influence, self-care and compassionate leadership.

Leadership Toolkit for General Practice Nurses

Deepen your understanding of yourself and others. Midlands Leadership Academy are supporting the use of the DiSC® tool to support the development of teams. The Everything DiSC® model provides a common language people can use to better understand themselves and those they interact with—and then use this knowledge to reduce conflict and improve working relationships.

Leadership Learning Zone
The Leadership Learning Zone (LLZ) has been developed in the Midlands to provide organisations and individuals with a tool that will enable learning, enhance understanding and embed vital skills and knowledge that will contribute to the physical and psychological well-being of our people. This can be accessed free of charge by all NHS staff via the following link: www.leadershipnhs.uk. LLZ features a suite of 22 leadership learning modules.
NEW! Systems and Relational Leadership modules on Leadership Learning Zone. The South West Leadership Learning Academy has developed ten Systems and Relational leadership modules in partnership with Tricordant. The resources are for leaders in health and care looking to learn more about leading and working collaboratively across organisational, professional and sector boundaries to improve healthcare and wellbeing for their population.
