NHSE Educational Resources

• NHSE has published a suite of clinical and educational resources in Diabetes, Heart Failure, Menopause Care, Wound Care, Asthma and Cancer Care, where scope of practice has been mapped against the general practice nursing career pathway.
• This is a piece of work for ‘Nurses by Nurses’ and published by Skills for health following the published core career and capability framework in 2022, with explicit input from NHSE RCGP, RCN and QNI colleagues.

Preceptorship

Preceptorship is an important aspect for any new registrant in their first role. LTH have developed the Career Start Programme which can be used within Primary Care to support both Nurses and Nursing Associates. For further information please follow this link:

Students

• Pre-registration students are welcomed to experience Primary Care. If you wish to support students, you will need to complete Supervisor and Assessor Training (SSSA Training). For further information, please contact us or book on our courses.
• The ‘Preparing for your future as a…’ programmes are designed to help pre-registration students feel more informed, prepared and confident about starting in their first registered role in the NHS. The programmes offer a wide range of useful information for students, including advice on searching and applying for their first job, what to expect in their first few weeks and months, how to make the most of the early stages of their career, and much more.
